We're talking jet skiing, folks, and for those who already know,the thrill that comes with cruising on the water's surface atspeeds that can exceed 50 MPH (80 km/h) is second to none. Forthose who have yet to discover this aquatic nirvana, you're onlya rental at your local beach away from getting in on theaction.
Jet skis are, quite simply, not skis at all but ratherwatercraft that operate on a skiing premise. That is, they skipalong the water's surface, much like snow skis would do on theslopes. They are driven by gas-powered engines, some as strongas 150 horsepower.
Some jet skis enable the driver to sit down, and with a personriding 'shotgun'. Other units are meant to be operated by thedriver in a standing-only position. In either instance, you arein command of a powerful watercraft that will have you the envyof beachcombers and boaters alike.
